Both their veterinary technology programs are accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association and with an associate in applied science degree, graduates qualify to sit for the national certification exam. Clinical experience requirement for Bergen is a total of 394 work hours, while Camden’s summer internship has a requirement of 300 hours. Bergen has a pre-professional and professional veterinary technology program. Professional courses are divided into classroom and clinical instructions. It’s a two-year program at Camden for veterinary technology students studying full time. However, it is open for part-time students as well who may take 2-3 classes per semester. Camden summer internships are supervised and designed to provide students with as much hands-on experience as possible. Completion of AAS degrees at either school will qualify graduates to sit for the national certification exam and earn the registered veterinary technician credential.
