Reputable vet tech schools in New York include Alfred State College. It’s four semesters plus a summer session to complete the associate in applied science degree for veterinary technology. The facilities are extensive and will provide students all the hands-on experience they need to be fully trained as professionals in the field of animal health science. The program is conducted in the Agriculture Building as well as the Alfred State College Farm for exposure to both small and big animals. This program can be completed in two academic years for full-time students or three years for those taking it part time. Completion qualifies graduates to sit for the national certification exam. The La Guardia Community College under the SUNY school system has a 65-credit veterinary technology program that awards an associate in applied science degree. The program meets requirements of the New York State Department of Education and the national certification exam.
