Vet Tech Schools In NC, North Carolina


Of the vet tech schools in North Carolina, the Central Carolina Community College takes pride in being the first institution to offer the veterinary medical technology program in the state. It has been recognized by the American Veterinary Medical Association’s Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities since 1974. It is a two-year program that exposes students to a wide variety of animals and conditions to help them develop the skills, competence and confidence to become a professional veterinary technician. Gaston College also offers a six-semester associate in applied science degree for veterinary medical technology. Aside from exposure to small and large animals, instructional sessions will prepare students on veterinary anatomy, terminology, nutrition and diagnosis, plus office administration and record keeping. Completion of the course means eligibility to sit for the state certification and licensing exam given by the North Carolinal Veterinary Medical Board that paves the way for many opportunities in the field of animal science.
