Vet tech schools in Ohio that offer associate degree programs are Columbus State Community College, Cuhayoga Community College and the Stautzenberger College. At Columbus, it is an associate in applied science degree program that provides classroom and clinical experience, including time at the Ohio State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital. The program is open for working individuals and offers night classes. the program is accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association. Aside from being accredited by the AVMA, the Tri-C (Cuhayoga) veterinary technology program is approved by the Ohio Veterinary Medical Licensing Board for its curriculum and partnership with over 50 veterinary facilities in Northeast Ohio. Completion results in the awarding of an associate in applied science degree. Stautzenberger College requires its veterinary technology schools to undergo volunteer hours in addition to the regular academic and clinical training. A total of 60 Pre-occupational Developmental Skills (PODS) must be completed by students to complete the two-year course. A full-time student can graduate in 27 months from this AVMA accredited school.
